Shea Butter / Buerre de Karité 

Shea butter, also known as Karité butter, is a plant-based fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa). This tree produces nuts for up to 200 years, helping to prevent deforestation and support local communities. We use a climate-compensated, fully traceable, and sustainably sourced version.

We use a high concentration of 30% shea butter; anything less simply doesn’t deliver the same results. Clinically tested in vivo (on human skin), it provides 24-hour deep hydration and regeneration, reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) by 40% in just 24 hours. This makes it a powerhouse for skin repair.
Rich in fatty acids and vitamins, our shea butter:

Our shea is 100% natural, climate-compensated, and sourced from FairWild™ certified segregated shea kernels through the Kolo Nafaso program in West Africa. This initiative supports rural women in building a fair and thriving shea industry, helping them supplement their family incomes while gaining long-term economic independence.

Kolo Nafaso creates direct trade partnerships with hundreds of thousands of women, offering training in business skills, health, and safety to strengthen their cooperatives. The program also protects shea forests by planting new trees and preventing deforestation, ensuring this vital resource—known as Karité or the "Tree of Life"—continues to provide sustainable income and ecological balance for generations.

By sourcing through this program, we contribute to social empowerment, economic growth, and environmental preservation, supporting communities while upholding ethical and sustainable practices.

Our Mineral Jelly is a pharma-grade, highly purified ingredient in its purest form. It forms a protective barrier on the skin, shielding it from external stressors such as pollution, chemicals, and makeup. This barrier locks in moisture, keeping skin hydrated and resilient.

Mineral Jelly is clinically proven to reduce moisture loss by reinforcing the skin barrier and protecting the skin from dehydration and environmental damage. It has a very low risk of causing allergic reactions, making it suitable for all skin types, especially the most sensitive and eczema-prone ones. As an occlusive agent, it creates a waterproof, semi-permeable layer that reduces trans epidermal water loss (TEWL) by 50% to 99% (supported by in vivo studies). This makes it one of the most effective ingredients for maintaining skin hydration, resilience, and anti-aging by supporting skin barrier function and reducing the appearance of fine lines caused by dehydration.

Rice Wax

Structural integrity: It keeps our balm sticks solid yet easy to glide, so you can apply just the right amount without waste.

Vitamin E (tocopherol)

Vitamin E is a crucial vitamin for the skin that our bodies cannot produce, so we must get it through diet or skincare. It's a powerful antioxidant, and the plant-based version we use is derived from sunflower and soy.

Our formula is enriched with vitamin E to support the skin but primarily to preserve the product.

Vitamin E enhances the absorption of other ingredients, strengthens the skin barrier, provides moisturising benefits and protects from damage and free radicals, making it ideal for dry skin. Though sensitive to light and oxygen, its effectiveness is preserved in our tube packaging, and in other products, it acts as a natural preservative, extending the durability.
